Irving is the first Cavs player — in a Cleveland jersey — to earn the honor. His teammate LeBron James was the featured player on NBA 2K14 when he was with Miami, and former Heat center Shaquille O'Neal was on the covers of NBA 2K 6 and NBA 2K 7. Irving averaged 25.2 points and 5.8 assists for Cleveland this season. Irving pointed out that he is a huge player, he added: " it's pretty cool that they even considered me for cover. To be gracing the cover is pretty amazing. I'm glad that I can share it with not only my teammates but the organization, our Cleveland fans and just NBA fans."
